How much does a bathroom renovation cost?
A small bathroom in a flat from €14,900. The latest: Kaleva, 4.2 m², about €15,800, and Hervanta, 6.8 m², about €19,400. The size, the floor drain, where the pipes run and the tile size move the price. The final price is fixed and agreed after the visit.
Why does a bathroom take four weeks?
There are fewer hours of work than that, but the screed and the waterproofing must cure as the maker says before tiling. We never shorten the curing, because that is exactly where water damage starts.
Can I use the bathroom during the work?
No. We agree before we start where you'll wash: many housing companies have a shared sauna, and the toilet often works again soon after the tiling.
What do I tell the housing company?
In a flat or a terraced house you file a renovation notice with the property manager before we start. We give you the work description and the waterproofing details to attach.
Can I claim the household tax credit?
Yes, on the labour. We itemise labour and materials on the invoice, and the company is in the prepayment register. Check your own credit on the Finnish Tax Administration's site.
